Bridger Nathaniel Hunt lives in Orem, Utah with his mom, Mindy Carter-Shaw; step-dad, Travis Shaw; and little sister, Timberlyn Shaw. He attended Bonneville Elementary and is looking forward to attending to Orem Junior High this year.
Bridger is now 12 years old; he celebrated his birthday on August 22, 2008 shortly after waking from his month long medically induced coma. The best birthday presents were having the ventilator tube removed the day before, being able to drink lots of water and juice, and moving out of his hospital bed into a special wheelchair for the first time! Bridger was surprised with a small family party and was very overwhelmed to see us all; it was a very special day! Some of the other favorite presents included a special quilt made by his Great Aunt Debi that Bridger treasures as it makes his room in the hospital a little more cozy, a giant love sack, iPod speaker pillow, a giant book with all the news clippings and articles on him, several liters of soda, boxes of popsicles, a gift basket from a local high school wrestling team with t-shirts signed by the team, and maybe his favorite present which arrived in the mail a couple days after his birthday, a special box from Plan B (one of Ryan Sheckler’s sponsors) with a very cool Plan B hat, shirt, board stickers and most prized, a Ryan Sheckler skateboard deck signed by none other than Ryan Sheckler! It’s fast become one of Bridger’s prized possessions.
Bridger’s younger sister is named Timberlyn, Timmi for short. She’s 7 years old and adores her big brother. Bridger and Timmi share a very special bond. He is a great big brother, very loving and protective of his little sister. Timmi loves playing with her older brother and has really missed putting on their plays and playing games while he’s been in the hospital. She loves to work on art projects and Bridger is always willing to help. Bridger’s father, Karl Hunt, also has son named Keton, who is 1 year old; Bridger’s half-brother, of whom Bridger is very fond.
Bridger’s favorite things…. “Skateboarding and not getting blown up”He loves doing anything outdoors, camping, hiking, or rafting, he likes watching scary movies, hanging out with friends, writing songs - he wants to learn how to play the guitar, eating Mom’s spaghetti carbonara, pizza pockets, spending time with Grandpa Terry & Grandma Betty, Aunt Dana, cousin Taylor and Uncle Lance fishing, treasure hunting and coyote hunting; and spending time with Grandma Dyanne, Grandpa Trent, Aunt Shana, Uncles Chase, Seth, Connor and McKay 4-wheeling, boating and river running. He also likes spending time with his dad, Karl, and Great Grandma Olena.
Bridger has a lot of extended family who love and adore him, here are just a few…. On Mindy’s dad (Bridger’s Grandpa) Terry’s side - Great Grandpa Darwin & Great Grandma Clara Carter, Great Aunt Tina, Great Uncles Mark, Gary and Donald Carter and many cousins. On Mindy’s mom (Bridger’s Grandma) Dyanne’s side – Great Grandpa Keith, Great Grandma Barbara & Great Uncle Kenny who are his special angels in heaven, Great Uncle Brook, Great Aunt Debi and cousins Amy, Carrie, Nick, Parker, McKenna, Emilea and Felice.
